Drop shadows when compositing - how?
Hi. I've masked off part of a layer and would like the remaining visible shaped bit of video to cast a drop-shadow over the following layer.
Any ideas? I'm sure it's something really simple I missed here.... |
Drop Shadows are added via Track Motion.

dupe the masked layer and drop the brightness on the video to 0...whatever correction to make the whole video black...then offset the track by a few pixels diagonally...not quite sure how to in vegas...could also make a rectangular shape to match the mask, then offset that and feather the edges.

Thanks to both of you!
I would never have thought of looking in "track motion". And I'm sure there are lots of other interesting ways to do this too - so I appreciate the help. Mark |
