Tags?

I am a newbie of vegas 4.0(d)

Question:

In some clips I have discovered tags on the top of the clips (they can be everywhere on the tops) and when the film is coming to this tags the film shaken (or frozen) for a millisecond just there.

What is this tags and how can I delete them?

What does the tags look like? Little triangles cut into the strip? Are they always there, or only when you do ... what?

always there

They look like small trangles, yes, cut into some clips from the top. And in the audio track they are at the same places. And they are always there.

How to lock?

I have edit my 55 minutes film down to 18 minutes.

And now I want to cut some more videoclips.

Everytime I have done so, all other events have come in disorder so that the music no more is in accordance with my videoclips.

I do not understand the manual how to do.

Can somebody explain how I can lock my CD-clip to my video-clip so they don’t move when I delete some other videoclip?

These are marks that indicate that your clip has reached the end and is looped back to the beginning. The framing at the start and end of the clip are slightly different, which is causing this jump. There isn't anything you can do about it except get a longer clip. :)

There are two things to look at here. First, if the clip originally had the same audio, it should be grouped by default. You can see if this is the case by clicking on the video or audio and seeing if the other piece has a blue border around it. If not, use Shift+Click or Ctrl+Click to select all the clips you want to be in the same group. Press "G" to group them. Now the audio and video will stay in sync, as long as ignore event grouping is turned off. (This is the open padlock button on the toolbar.)

Good site for tutorials:

And Example files:

As mentioned above, Edward's newsletters are also a great place to start.

There, those links work better. :)

So would a religious Vegas user who cannot stand the sight of Premiere have any use for Aspect HD?

Maybe in the future. The technology that drives Aspect HD for Premiere can ported to other editing applications. CineForm is considering Vegas and other NLE for this technology. However, if you want on-line multiple-stream real-time HD editing, Aspect HD with Premiere is today's only solution.

At the top there's a button with 2 filmstrips and a arrow (8 from the right). That's the auto ripple button. Ripple is so that when you delete something everything else moves back to fill in the hole of the deleted item. You can set it to either move all tracks back or just one track.

You need to use the capture program that come with the camera.

Here is a thread I started a few weeks ago.

For another alternative, if that section is DONE, just render it and use the rendered clip instead of the individual pieces.

XP. You need to go to the hard drive controller properties and see if it is using DMA or PIO. If PIO, I guarantee you'll drop frames.

Thanks for the sites.

I've printed the manual and Edward's first 9 newsletters and had them spiral bound. I just have to get to reading them. I spend half of my life on the road, it would be nice to have a life but it's a living

I always worry about how I'll do on anything technical and new. i always make out like a champ, but it's the nature of the beast. When I'm cock sure I fall flat on my face.
