Batch Render?
I have a Vegas 6 project that is separated into two .veg files, each with a little over 4 hours of video. I need to render the beast to 16 individual DVD-MPG2 files (8 segments in each .veg) I would rather not have to be at the PC to start a new render of each section every time. Is there a way to batch render, even if I created 1 veg file for each of the 16 segments, so I could just come back tomorrow and have all 16 files rendered? or, would it cause any harm if I opened 16 copies of vegas and rendered all 16 simultaneously, realizing all renders would be significantly slowed, but still, I could leave and come back to 16 rendered files.
Any ideas on the best way to render 16 files? |
Identify each segment as a Region (make selection/hit the R key) and then use Tools>Scripting>Batch render, and assign it to render regions.
That's the easiest method I'm aware of. Much more effective than opening 16 copies of the veg. |
Thanks, I just set up the regions, and will give it a whirl. With this method, how do I set the specific bit rate and other settings for the MPG2?

Scratch that, I figured it out... By making my adjustments and saving a new template with the appropriate settings.

You found it, I guess...modify a template.
You *might* find this small tutorial of use; http://www.vasst.com/resource.aspx?i...f-3f7950d7c353 |
Would this work for separate VEG files?
Say you have 5 different video projects of 12 minutes each and you want to render them all by pushing a button and then leaving. Is there a way to create a "job" that would render all 5 of the VEG projects? Can this be done with batch render or would I need some other tool? ph

If you haven't seen the Veggie Toolkit, it is a very flexible batch rendering program:
