Recently used transitions menu
When right clicking on a crossfade on the timeline a menu appears. In that menu is a sub-menu, Transitions, and I use it constantly. This contains the controls for Convert to Cut and Insert Crossfade, as well as a list of what you would think would be the most recently or most frequently used transitions, or perhaps a list of favourite transitions. Only they aren't (in my case, anyway.) I probably use three or four different transitions at most, and none of those are displayed!
I thought perhaps that by using a particular transition a number of times in a row it might appear on the list. Nope. I can't see any logic behind the transitions it chooses to include. While it's not a major hardship to click on Insert Other, then choose from the plugin chooser, it's frustrating, as I know I could be doing it in less keystrokes. Is there any way to change the contents of that list? |
Re: Recently used transitions menu
Actually, it does appear that it's a "MRU" list. I just looked in the the "Internal Preferences" and there is an MRU list there for the transitions and they are showing the list that I see. Unfortunately, you need to know the GUID in order to change them manually.
Try this: 1. Go to the transitions tab. 2. Now drag the transition preset you want to use to a transition 3. Now right-click the transition and see what's in the list |
Re: Recently used transitions menu
Thanks Edward, I'll try that.

Re: Recently used transitions menu
My experience shows that Vegas 12 has problems remembering Vegas window layouts & transition lists. These problems were not in Vegas 11.

Re: Recently used transitions menu
Edward, yes that's it. If you select them from the Transitions chooser window (which I rarely do) they then show up in that quick menu. Excellent! My life is complete. Many thanks. :-)
