Okay I got it, now what?

Alright I bought the online upgrade and saved it to my desk top. Before I get it installed is there any last minute advice, tips, or input form any body?

Not bad for $139.00 and I opted for the free Seminar series too.

I just wanted to see if there were any last minutes do's or dont's from anybody before I hit install.

Thank again everybody

Yeah, don't uninstall Vegas 9. If you experience the bugs some people are experiencing, you might need it.

Tim Cee November 22nd, 2010 02:30 PM

Okay, noted Jeff. I was actually using Pro 8 but will keep it until I get every thing all set and working properly.

Any thing else?

You can leave Pro 8 on your laptop until you're 100% comfortable with Pro 10.
Anytime you open a Pro 8 Project in Pro 10, make sure to give it a new filename so that it can still be opened to Pro 8 if you need to

MIke, can you elborate on this? Are you saying when I open a Pro 8 project from Pro 10 then save a copy of it as a pro 10 project too?

Jeff Harper November 22nd, 2010 06:07 PM

Yes, he's saying save it with another name, so that the 8 version is still there, in case you have problems in 10. If you save the project you open in 10 without using a different name, the Vegas 8 version will then be Vegas 10 version, and you cannot open it in 8.

Mike is just recommending that as a safety measure in case you're unhappy with 10 or if it gives you problems. A project saved in 10 will not open in 8, is what he's saying essentially.

Thanks Jeff.
You took the words right out of my mouth :-)

Jeff and Mike,

I thought that was what you meant Mike but wanted to make sure.

I installed Pro 10 with out a hitch and after playing a couple hours with it all I can say is WOW. Nice change coming from Pro 8. Which reminds me, this thread started as a Pro 8 question and ended as a Pro 10 intstall how to. Funny how things work huh?

Thanks again to every one for the help!
