Universal 'No' Symbol
1 Attachment(s)
Does anybody have one of these they can post, as a png file transparent except for the symbol itself? It's for a kids school video project, I don't have photoshop, and have had a heck of a time trying to create a bezier mask (basically a clutz with photo editing). I want to lay this image over trash on the beach.
Thank you. |
Bill, there's no need to do anything to it.
Drop it on your Vegas timeline, apply the Chromakey FX to it, click on the white portion and you're done!! |

Thanks Mike! That was incredibly simple.
|
Actually, once you've applied the chroma-key to it, you can THEN use Vegas to save PNG file with transparency.

David, you can make this yourself very easily in Photoshop or any other paint program, even the one that comes with Windows.

Forgive my stupidy asking this question.... I didnt even think about making my own... i have been so consumed learning video from the still photography world, that i never gave making my own a thought! Heres my first attempt at it.

Stop apologizing :)
All you need to do now is flip it so that the line goes from upper left to lower right instead of the way you have it. |
Anything in the extended Windows character set? If so use it :)

Dingbats? Webdings?

Here is one I made that was lying around. Welcome to it if you want it.
Download in 1080p. Drop in Vegas, chroma key the green screen, frame hold on last frame if you want it longer. cheers guys :) YouTube - no symbol.mov |

Bleedin' obvious approach, Google-search. Nice one Leslie! Grazie |
you know what the main problem is nowadays dear grazie?
we are losing such things as common sense (pretty uncommon at the best of times), and because we live within the confines of our software, the first place we look is within that software often forgetting there's a much wider horizon outside the box..... have a great new year old boy! |
Leslie & Grazie, a Google search was my first thought too.
The reason I recommended making one is that David wanted an HD version (potentially 1920 x 1080) and the largest that a search turned up was 600 x 600. |
David really really appreciated it. Coming from the still photography world, this video editing has been a steep learning curve for me. my proficientcy at Photoshop was simply how to make pics look better...i totally forgot i could make my own graphics. leslie and grazie..you are right we become so consumed by our software, we forget to think outside the box.
i think we have beat this thread to death, moderater should lock it. Thanks again everyone. |
At the risk of dragging this on, I don't see any harm in exploring different ways to achieve a result. It's how I learn new tricks, rather than being spoon-fed by Google (well, when I have time, that is, otherwise Google is my first port of call, naturally!).
More to the point, having learnt how to make a relatively simple symbol from scratch, it would be good grounding for when you one day need to create a more complicated shape or mask that isn't readily available. Just a thought. |
