I always capture with scene detection because it nicely splits up every take
for me. I can then put that in a spreadsheet and add comments. Then I can rename the files and put them in sub-directories (folders) according to scene and coverage. Scene 1 \ setup 2 \ take 3.avi Works perfect for my fictional work. |
For fictional work that is certainly ehhmmm in my opinion also the way to go :) . The problem with documentary/event work is, that I sometimes have the camera recording for an hour running around, while at other times having 3-4 second bits of various fill material in between <- this usually does not add up to really great accessibility.
