Don't know if this is really acceptable, but you could even do the pattern in something like the standard Windows 'Paint' program (assuming you have a Windows based PC) over a coloured background (like blue for example) and then use the chroma keyer in Vegas to remove the blue if need be.
I only use Photoshop when preparing images etc for Vegas and I have never tried it with Windows Paint, so can't comment on its effectiveness, but I am certain that Windows Paint does not give you templates for matching video aspect ratio! I might give it a try for myself! I've probably confused you even more, but thought I would add my input! |
Speaking of music generators for Vegas, does anyone know of any others that are compatible?
|
Hi Rob.
Yeah, I tried the Video for Windows settings and picked the Matrox driver, but no dice. That's what's baffling, because as we both noted, the codec's doing the work. If Vegas is not converting to an internal format for placement in the timeline (as FCP does), then they're transcoding on the fly for DV output through FireWire. Regards, Gavin |
Thanks. I'll try it.

Acid?

Somewhat related -- there's talk of Zenote releasing a suite of Magic Bullet-like movie looks.
If you haven't already, I suggest you give their "Glow" filter a look -- at $30, combine it with judicious use of the Color Curves and Color Corrector, and you've got yourself a very good look setup. Combine it further with color overlays, luma masks... there's no reason to care much about MB, and plenty of reasons to drop their render times. - jim |
acids more of a looping tool and multitracker than an actual generator..
|
You might not even need any software. Perhaps search the net for jpegs or designs you are looking for?
|
Ah, thanks for making that distinction clear...
|
You are going to have a ball, after you get over the initial shock of the transition.
Want to have more fun? Consider dumping the Celeron for a system with hyperthreading, it will make a big diff in rendering times with V5. |
That could be. It might be something as simple as you not having
turned on DMA for that drive. Or you need to defrag. But it can also be more serious in that the drive is failing. Is there another device on the same channel (cable) as the drive? |
Yes, if you have external monitor on it is doing on the fly DV
encoding before sending it over the firewire channel. |
Use Frameserver rendering across network?
How one render to a file in shared directory, and use another networked PC gets input from that file? Seems I can't make it work, either render to local or remote PC. Any trick, oe maybe it doesn't even supported? Thanks.

Big Thanks to Edward from Orlando
A big thank you to Edward Troxel for a great evening with Vegas on Friday night here in downtown Orlando. We covered a lot of ground, from the Zenote plugins to Edward's Excalibur/Tsunami/Neon plugins to a deep look into some of the new features of Vegas 5.0.
It was a great environment of sharing and mutual problem solving, mixed in with just some good old fashioned get-to-knows. Thanks to everybody that came out, and thanks again Edward. People pay a lot of money for the expertise and knowhow you brought to the meeting, and you shared it with us for free. Thanks all! |
I'm sorry I missed the show. I had an inkjet printing workshop to present the next day and with the travel time and all I didn't think it would work out. If you have another meeting I would love to know about it.
