recording multiple audio sources in vegas 8.1
Hey all,
I'm working on a project where I need to have 4 - 8 tracks of audio recorded at the same time as the video. does vegas have this ability? as an audio capture interface I'm using a Presonus FP10 |

Yes, Vegas can do this. In fact, that's what Vegas was ORIGINALLY designed to do.
You will need a sound card with multiple inputs. Then you can assign the multiple inputs to separate tracks. Finally you arm the tracks for recording, hit record, and it will record the audio direct to the timeline. Just try it out! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. |

PreSonus and then running the fp10 via firewire into my laptop. does that solve my problem? |
That should work fine. I believe the PreSonus outputs descrete channels from each input. I have a little Alesis FW mixer that I use to capture up to 8 channels into Vegas with no problem. I don't know if you'll be able to get 24-bit at 96K for 10 channels or if you'll have to drop the sample rate to 48K.
