Video effects before or after?
What is your workflow like with Magic Bullet...is it best to apply contrast and brightness settings before or after film effects...
|
It depends.
Normally we apply image correction first. Then filters. It's always best to add things like Magic Bullet to a good image, rather than to one that needs fixing. However, some Magic Bullet effects can render your image on the wrong side of legal levels (if you use plenty of magic bullet presets combined with other fx for example) so it would be naive to suggest that you wouldn't need any further correction afterwards. |
Hi Stuart,
Extremely well put. Fixing an image or addressing an effect... Precisely the question to ask when looking at both contrast and brightness, both of which should likely be the last tools of resort in the toolbox anyway. My best, Mike |
Thank you both for your comments. I've been doing the contrast and brightness first, as you do Stuart. Unfortunately MB does as you say, and can wreck everything. I don't use it much, but when I do use MB on top of images it usually means tons of adjustments.
