How to get single channel audio to play in both speakers?
I have some HDV footage which was recorded with two microphones - one on-camera mic and one neck mic. So now the footage has two channels, one channel for each microphone. for example: on-camera mic on Left chnannel and neck mic mic on the Right channel.
I want to only use the recording of only one of the two microphones - in my case that would be the neck mic. So my queston is: what would be the proper way to get the one channel to output evenly on both channels? Thanks! |
Right-click the audio event and select "Channels - Right only".
The audio now becomes a mono signal and will output equally to both channels. If you have multiple events, select all of them and do this procedure. |

A quick way to select them all is to go to the beginning of the audio track, right click on the first audio clip then "select events to end", this will select/highlight all clips to the right of the first selected clip. Paul. |
With the Pro version of Vegas, it gets even easier. Just use a script to do it all for you! For example, the free Stereo Split script on my site will take the selected audio event, copy it to a new track, set one to "left" and the other to "right" so that both channels will play out both speakers.

Great! Thanks all for the help.
