Greetings

Victor Kellar from Toronto here. New to this board. Over 20 years experience in the Toronto wedding market, mostly as an editor. Have my own studio, using freelance camera dudes/dudettes and I also edit for 2 or 4 other studios. I always love seeing what other people are doing in our crazy business.

Just thought I'd drop a quick sample. This is a Hilight from the end of a wedding, what we usually call a Flashback in this part of the universe

Very very nice....

Only small critisism would be to anti alias the 'flashback text' at the begninning...

Lovely choice of music and the slowed pace of the filming worked really well with the shots you chose.

I would try and focus more on creative shooting and camera movement over using digital effects in post. Maybe thats the style your going for, but I find that something well shot and put together has much more of an impact on the viewer over something will lots of digital effects. I also noticed that some of the audio was distractingly noisy, that might be something to look at.

Other than that, I thought there were some neat ideas and shots and I liked how you incorporated more than one song.

Yes Patrick, I agree with you. My challenge as a Editor, is reconciling the desire of the Studio, the wants of a Client and the limitations of a shooter; none of whom, occasionally, talk to each other. Studio wants High End (or their interpretation of it) the B&G want something emotional and personalized, and the cameraman wants a paycheck.

Ah well, we do what we do
