Anyone have bought this from other place online safely? other than b and h and adorama

Hey,

By the way - its a very useful lens. Worth putting in a backorder for instead of finding an alternative IMHO. Considering the speed, price and unique zoom range its a great choice. This was with the 11-16: http://www.weddingfilms.com/fun/DSLR..._TOKINA_11-16/ (The vignetting I'm seeing is caused by the ND fader - I realized I'd put it over the protective UV filter, and that was just enough to get it into the lens' field of view. Also, if you look at the top of the frame you can occasionally catch a glimpse of the dead cat on the shotgun mic..) |
thanks Joel, I will try this on ebay.
I guess Adorama wont have this for a while. |
Possible options, each with a drawback:
Slower than the 11-16 but gets very good reviews: Tokina | AF ATX 12-24/4.0 PRO DX II ZOOM LENS FOR CANON EOS DIGITAL SLRS (77MM) *FREE SHIPPING* | ATX124DXIIC | Tri-State Camera, Video, and Computer Older version of that lens - cheaper and still very highly regarded: Tokina | AF ATX 12-24/4.0 PRO DX ZOOM LENS FOR CANON EOS DIGITAL SLRS (77MM) | ATX124AFPROC | Tri-State Camera, Video, and Computer ...and the 11-16 in stock but a little gouging going on: Tokina | AF ATX 11-16/2.8 PRO DX ULTRA WIDE ANGLE ZOOM LENS FOR CANON EOS DIGITAL SLRS (77MM) *FREE SHIPPING* | ATX116PRODXC | Tri-State Camera, Video, and Computer |
I use a Tokina 10-17 f/3.5-4.5 for still photography, slower than the 11-16 and not a constant aperture, but I'm happy with it. Very sharp and does give a little wider range, FWIW.
