Blu-Ray Burner for Macs (External/Internal)
Apologize in advance if there is a similar thread going around.
I'm sure that there are a number of us hunting for a compatible blu-ray burner for our Macs. Price is definitely an issue for many of us, but so are the specs. I'm seeking advice from the experts and the experienced ones as to which Blu-ray burner would suit me best. As I'm a wedding videographer; I don't need too many copies to be burned at once (by "once" I mean per client). I have come across many different brands that I will post below - have a look at them and tell me what you think. BTW: I need it for my Mac Pro (external or internal) but I will post burners for all macs. I am running the 205 with the external enclosure via USB. Has anyone used the esata connection and experienced better results?

I installed an internal Panasonic BDR-205 in a March 09 Mac Pro 8 core running Snow Leopard. The burner would disappear in System Profiler after awhile. It was also not there after a restart. Shutting the machine down and have a cold boot fixed it for awhile but then it would disappear. My solution was to never have any drive sleep in Energy Saver. I contacted Panasonic support and their response was they have not plans to support Mac.
