low light dvx100 vs xl2

is there a definitive decision on which camera performs better in low light? I think I read the specs favor the dvx100, as do most user opinions.

also any difference between the dvx100 and dvx100a in terms of low light performance?

low light??
strictly speaking the 100 standard model (original release) is abotu 1 to 2 stops below the 100a, this means it does in fact perform better.
I also find that that 100 is alot cleaner when u use the gain up ( i only go up to 12db)

the 100a is a little noisier, but in good light, it sdynamic range poos on the A.. its like a different camera altogether.. even if its been calibrated with teh other one (ive got both models)

compared to teh XL2, its low light performance is far greater.. and colour reproduction is far more accurate. its not THAT much of a difference, but it is significant when it comes to deciding whether or not a light is to be used.

Both cameras perform well.. but one thing to note, is that the canon will loose alot of stops when zooming, as does the DVX.. the more u zoom, the less light your ccd picks up
on top of that your staibilsation will begin to deteriorate when u start zooming.
