mic for fashion show
 

shooting fashion show with a xl1s , DJ speakers will be on left side of camera and will be panning camera from left to right so on board mic cant be used, want to place an external mic next to speakers but also want to record applause ambient audio at the same time any suggestions on a mic suitable for this kind of set up , is the seinnheiser ME66/k6 too directional to capture both audio sources?

hmm...
id take a minidisc recorder and hook up to the DJbooth
then run the stereo shotgun and multtrack the audio :)
or at least, get a playlist from teh dj, and do it later in post.
