Back up audio
Hi everyone,
I am looking into something for back audio during ceremonies.I found this Yamaha | Pocketrak CX Digital Stereo Audio | POCKETRAK CX | B&H and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with one of these.I was thinking of having this in the grooms pocket with a lav hooked up to it for the ceremony and them to use it for toasts and such later in the evening.Any thoughts or am I barking up the wrong tree here.I just got my wireless evolution g2 system and just wanted some kind of back up.I hope this is in the right forum.Any help would be fantastic! I have this Sony and its awsome, better quality than my XH-A1, tons of memory and can record all day on a set of rechargable AA's
I would not do a wedding with out it has saved my tail several times. Sony | PCM-D50 - Professional Portable Stereo Digital | PCM-D50 |
Hi Denny,
That is actually the one I have on my wishlist @ b+h .Will that interfere with the wireless audio? And is it too heavy for the grooms pocket? I was looking at the Yamaha one for it's weight. Ryan |
where do you use a device like this...
Is it usually placed in the Grooms pocket or hid close to the lectern? I assume this is mainly for the ceremony and vows. Is it supersensitive(ie: coat rustling every time the groom moves)?
thanks, Mike Watkins |
Not too heavy, but I do not put it in the grooms pocket, I have a mixer under my A Cam, and run a signal off from that to the Sony recorder. I almost always use this clip over the cams. Then even if the cam stops recording, the Sony still is.
It has never interfeared with my wireless mics. |
That sounds like a great idea....but it seems a bit over my head.Could I bother you for a pic of the setup...I'd love to run a setup like that but I'm not sure where to start.
