Projector for color correction?
 

I read that professional color correction houses use a projector. I'm assuming they use the old CRT projectors (the size of a small car), but I was wondering about using a dlp projector. I have a high end, infocus home theater (IN82), 1080p projector. It's been professionally calibrated. Has color temp settings, and every possible setting adjustment is capable. I don't recall off hand the connections on it, I know hdmi, but they are a bunch of others, digital and analog. Is this pretty much the same boat as using an LCD monitor? Or might I have a tool I could possibly use?

Projectors are used when the final delivery will be a cinema display. If what you are doing is only intended for television, then you don't need a projector. Also, the projector must be capable of displaying the color space that final delivery will be made in. DCI has its own specifications. If you are going back to print, your projector will need to display the color space of the film used for printing. It needs to be carefully calibrated with your lab.

I don't think a 1080p home theatre projector is even remotely close to the what is required.
