16:9 format on monitor?
I shoot musicals, with 3 13" TVs in the control room for the shot director. I would like to shoot 16:9 format, and would like to see that format in its finished appearance rather than stretched out. Is there an adaptor or a way to send the square pixels to the monitors. I am using rca with an s-video adaptor now with 100' cables.

There is a plugin solution called EchoFire.
Basically you can specifiy the output format (cropped to fit, letterboxed...). It can display waveforms, vectorscope, show color bars, safe title... http://www.synthetic-ap.com/products...ire/index.html Dany |
Are they actually monitors, or are they TV sets? If using TV sets, have a look at this link which tells you how to enter service mode using a remote control. Once there you can adjust the vertical size of the image to the 16:9 proportion. On a monitor there might be a dedicated knob for this (assuming that your monitors don't already have a button for 16:9).
