the current thread was about resurrecting UWOL and it's clear from the paucity of posts within the group that it's not going to happen here.

I hate the fact that forums like DVinfo are disappearing and Facebook groups are taking over but that's the world we live in. There is no way I would have learned as much as I have on a Facebook group - I lurked and learned on Dvinfo for years and was able to rely on the information I found - Social media is flooded with misinformation and that's a great pity for the young practitioners out there trying to learn.

There's no reason we couldn't run the competition from within DVinfo but we still need to promote it outside. If you're looking to bring new members into the forum you have to get them from somewhere.

Nice to see some movement of this thread again. I must admit I don't visit dvinfo as often as I used to. (shame on me!)
I would most likely participate if a new challenge was started, but I won't be the administrator again. It just wasn't worth the time and effort in the end, with so few participants when I shut down uwol earlier.

The idea of a new name, is a good one. Should probably have been done years ago.

I'm still keen but I've been dragged out of retirement to shoot a telemovie in Fiji and it looks like there'll be 2 more so I'm not sure I'll have time
