Hi Marj, I managed only to get a still of the female - which in itself is quite amazing because they're apparently harder to see than the males - but they don't share the colouring of the male ( which i saw flying a little later on). Was shooting wide open in a rush so the DOF is a bit shallow..... beautiful creature :-)

Wow Rob - you got a photo! ... albeit of the female! I agree with Dale - the DOF really works for me - brings out the fine details of the butterfly. I suggest you hang around that spot - you are likely to see lots more (judging by this site.

I trust it is okay to replace a video made for a fun challenge with a slightly modified version.
In this revised version I have added a graphic and made some minor changes to the content to include the information on the crystal structures that I unwisely removed from the first version at the last minute. No new comments on the revised version expected. |
