Thanks Meryem and Trond for the warm welcome! Its tough getting good stuff in tropical, extremely humid places like Singapore! But the subjects are plentiful...other than landscapes...we have almost no natural landscape.
Have got plenty of footage (my macro is done on a tripod 100% of the time due to the weight and mag rate) but still trying to piece them together to form a meaningful video. Cheers WeeHan |

yet another lurker unveiled!
Hi everyone,
Finally got myself up and running so this year I will be able to enter this wonderful contest rather than being a side lines supporter. I'm a 23 year old zoology graduate who has always wanted to make films which entertain, educate and inspire people about our fantastic natural world. I'm going to make this dream into a career even if I have to live in a tent. Looking forwards to learning from all you more experienced film makers. Pete |

hello, peter!
i just sent you an e-mail. here you are again. welcome to UWOL, those UK filmmakers are tough competitors, 2 of our six Challenge rounds last year were one by brits. vikings are doing their best to chase them down for world domination in nature and outdoors shooting, however. all of whom were edged out by a swede in the last round.... looking forward to seeing what you can add to the mix! |

Hello all,
thought i would introduce myself. im alexander, sandy for short. Im also a zoology graduate, and just completed a masters in biological photography last year. got into photography through my interest in coservation and wildlife and from that evolved into film. Ive made a couple of films in kenya and trinidad and was meant to be going back out to kenya to teach film making to some locals but a new job and the current situation there has put a hold on that. I dont currently own a camera but looking to invest in something soon enough to get something in for this months uwol...so looking forward to it!! sandy |

You're great Meryem! Have you seen my latest commercial? Straight from the pages of my last horror experience, complete with boiler room. It's on the frontpage of my website, you may like it muhahah ah ah ah ahh. I was ducked tape, bound, and beaten!
I have to sit this UWOL out - Unless the theme is "Sitting at home trying to get things off the ground". I swear I'll sign up on the next one....Can't miss them all now can we....

Hey everyone, 34 yr old editor in training here. I have a fair bit of experience operating camera, which I love doing, but I want to finish up my schooling in the editing field and begin the long arduous task of gaining notoriety... err, I mean credibility as an editor. Uwol looks like it will be fun as long as i don't go nutty trying to come up with original ideas lol.
I entered Dvc 7 I believe it was and got shot down in glorious smoke and flames. I'm now back to torture(bless) your eyes with wonderful images of the natural world MuuuWaaahahaha. Cheers |
