An Outdoor preset
I know this could be in the xl2 forum but some of you may not go there and i was sondering if any of you have a favorite preset for getting rich outdoor color without to much noise??
Sometimes i like my gl2 color better than my xl2. Is mostly due to have have only had the xl for a month or two. |
In my contact with the Xl2 I found more presice color control in the presents rather than playing with the white balance. Also less problem with noise.

Good Afternoon.
Have you investigated "Warm Cards"? A bit expensive, but they do an impressive job. I purchased mine in @November, 2K5. Since than, I do not, (as the US commercial go's), leave home without them. They substantially aid in control of colour/light. They might be what your looking for shooting outdoors. |
Dale,
I used this for my H1 and most apply to the XL2. This preset is as close to the natural outdoors as I can get. Be sure to adjust your white balance first and as Robert says you may also choose to use warm cards which I use often outdoors. Bill,
thankyou for sharing. there are a few abreviations I was not familiar with so I suspect they are just hd oriented, eh? Also I notice quite a difference in color between my 54 inch tv, my 20 inch in the control room and my two lcd monitors! kind of makes the water murkey Tonight I was filming a ruddy duck in breeding bloom and the I finally have the color on the blue beak virtually identical on the big screen. to do this I have had to saturate the colors rg at 2 gg at 0 and bg at 3, set up and ped at -6. Your last six abreviations I do not get I will try your presets out this week. thanks again Dale |
