I am convinced. I ordered the special set from BH Photo Video. It also comes with a Kata Exo-12 camcorder case. I am not sure if my HDR-HC1 will fit in to this bag, but I guess it will judging on the size. A nice extra in my eyes.

Which is the better one the 525MVB with the 503 head or the 351MVB2 with the 503 head

thanks

I just have to ask-- did any of you consider the 516 head to add greater weight capability and more tension to the fluid head?

For Canon XH-A1 why would I choose 503 head vs. 501HDV?

Another question, for the legs are the legs without center column with half-bowl better (and in what applications) than legs with center column?
I am looking at 755B that has 50mm half-bowl but also has the central column.

Could someone give some advise, please! Thanks in advance!

I really have to recommend this tripod/head combo package to everyone who is in the mid range price market. The kit is $495 and includes the 503 head, three stage aluminum sticks, a mid level spreader, rubber feet, and a padded bag. Its really sits in its own price range, and its the best mid-level pod I found. If you go lower, they get really cheap in design, if you go higher, they are MUCH more costly.

I am using it with my XL-H1 and it is a great combo!

Just a little recommendation for anyone in the market for a tripod like it.

I can see that this combo is $495 at BH - on special. I will probably get it mid next week...

Its funny, I have told a few people that I got it for 495 at B&H & it seems like only when I send them the direct link, they can see it.

Anyway, if you search for 351MVB2 you will get two results, the 395 unit with the 501 head and the 495 with the 503.

Well it appears their site is down right now, otherwise I would post a direct link as well.

I grabbed the $400 w/ 501HDV

I'm thoroughly impressed...

The case quality, the build... everything honestly is perfect...

Can't wait to use it :)

I got the 351MVB2 (with the 503 head) from B&H on the 15th, they shipped it on the 16th, and it should arrive on the 21st. I can't wait to get it.
I took a look at the 503 head and loved it at a local store, but they wanted $337 just for the head, which is about $100 over B&H. Love B&H...

Did some stuff in my room, the lighting sucks but there's no "sticktion" at all...

Maksim Yankovskiy May 17th, 2007 09:13 PM

I hope the tripod and the head did not affect the lighting in a bad way :)
