tripod replacement rubber feet - cross brand compatibility?
 

So I was looking at some replacement tripod rubber feet & was kinda surprised the the price ranges from $20 - $300 for roughly the same thing from different manufactures. I know different brands can demand different prices, but I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any cross brand compatibility.

I know I've compared some Sachtler feet & Vinten feet & they don't mix. The Vinten have a "ball" where the Sachtler are more of the "tube," plus the distance from the foot to the "hook" that the rubber has to be pulled wasn't the same. So I'm guessing not all of these would work, but since they're all using a very similar design, I'm guessing some might.

What kind of tripod are you using? I found that for feet and most other accessories like that it's best to stay with the original manufacturer.

As Don has already mentioned, without the make you're using, I can't give a definitive answer, however, from my experience, here's how they stack up:

Manfrotto, Vinten & Libec - of two Vintens, two Manfrotto's and one Libec tested, the feet were so similar I couldn't distinguish between them and all fitted each of the others.

Sachtler - have two different sizes (at least) and neither fit either Manfrotto, Vinten or Libec.

Miller - don't know.
