Used Sachtler DV8/100 vs. DV8/100 SB
 

I am considering buying a used Sachtler DV8/100 (not the SB) and had some questions for anyone who might know:

How does the older non-SB model compare to the current SB model? Aside from the "speed balance" feature, are there any other differences? Smoothness, ruggedness, adjustability, usability? I'll be using it with a Sony PMW-EX1.

What's a good price for a used head, 2 or 3 years old, in perfect working condition with cosmetic blemishes. Is it worth far less than an SB?

Any other pitfalls to buying an old Sachtler, specifically this model?
