Problem is...no one knows who the camera person was:

Amateur video wins prestigious journalism award

I remember watching the video and being suspicious of the rate of sudden blood flow from the wound. Plus the sleight of hand that happened at exactly the same time.

There is a downside to the anonymously sourced video.

Unfortunately the news value of the clip was far too great and I doubt that the journalists had the luxury of spare time (or even thought) to give it some critical consideration first.
