NAB Blues...
Okay, I can't complain TOO much, but since "discovering" NAB in the spring of 1999 (when I bought my XL-1 and Apple to edit on), I haven't been able to go to a single one of them. usually, it just conflicted with work, but the last two years, it's conflicted with the Palm Beach International Film Festival, of which my Film Society is a part of.
And many in our area are hoping that we will one day schedule the film fest at a different time than NAB. Besides, it's next to impossible to get pros like Apple, Canon, etc. to come out and talk and give seminars during the fest/NAB... Sigh... Another year, another NAB-less event for me. BUT, the film fest is cool as heck! ;-) Have fun, heath |
If it helps anything, I can't go to NAB either. Too expensive.

Don't they have some big show in Germany once a year?
|
Yeah, it's called CeBiT and it was last week I think. But that's
basically a consumer electronics show. I've been to it once and I didn't like it. I'd much rather be at IBC here in Amsterdam which I will be attending again this year, if all goes well. One of the things I don't get to do at IBC or CeBiT is meet the rest of the wrangling team in person <g> |
I heard that NAB takes 3 months to see everything. :-(

Yeah wish I could go to NAB!!!
Any way I've got the UK Production Show to look forward to in May - that'll show pretty much show all the major developments that went on at NAB. I'm currently looking into the possibility of going to IBC this year. Ed |
Man, if I went, I'd be broke not from the trip, but from all the gear I'd buy.
I just hope Apple doesn't release FCP 5. That would irk me greatly... heath |
