The only one I know of is Showcase Inc. in Morningside/Buckhead.

Depends on what kind of equipment you're looking for.
Showcase is one, then there's PC&E which rents and sells grip and lighting gear. Another place in Norcross I can't recall offhand.

Hola! I live in midtown and attend GSU. Would love to help out with anyone else's shoot and will certainly post here when I need help. Is anyone aware of any other local mailing lists, forums resources. I am compiling a DVD magazine of local work. I will be posting soon on the Contemporary's web forums and GSU's FV mailing list. Any other places I should go to solicit submissions?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Hello!

I'm in Marietta - just getting back into video. I'm mainly working with doing some small stuff for my church, but I am interested in expanding my horizons. I currently have a panasonic ag-dvc30. I, too, am interested in helping out in different areas.

Regards,
Tim P.

Guys,
The Image Film Group seems to have a great thing going here in the Atlanta area. They sponsor the film fests here, and there's great seminars. Oh yeah, and a discussion board:

http://www.imagefv.org/resources_board.htm
seems like you could hook up on a shoot there.

So many people here from the Atlanta area.
As I mentioned in my welcome post, I just moved from Atlanta.
(Lived there about 9 years in Buckhead).

I agree with Jeff, IMAGE Film/Video is a pretty cool place. I took quite a few classes there and enjoyed it.

Gods Peace

Middle of nothing? Are you kidding? Goodness Grows is in Washington. That makes it the center of the universe! ;) For those not botanical inclined, Goodness Grows is a nursery and has at least two plants that they developed. One is Verbena 'Goodness Grows' that they discovered. They still have the coolest hardy hibiscus on their lot with colors white to dark pink on the same tree.

Christopher Thomas March 7th, 2006 02:48 PM

Hello fellow ATLiens and Georgians.

I've been lurking for awhile, but I've finally decided to start posting. I live in the Alpharetta area, and I've written, produced and edited several short independent movies here in Atlanta. I've recently purchased a Sony FX-1 to start a wedding videography business.

This forum is my new favorite site. What an amazing resource.

Lawrenceville/Grayson

Hey. In the Tribble Mill area of Lawrenceville/Grayson.
Trying to break into the industry quietly with my side-business of photo montages, video conversions, video editing and soon to offer a family history type video. Using the business to fund itself and my enjoyment of shooting video and editing. If things never takeoff, that's ok. I love doing it anyway.

Ervin Farkas June 16th, 2006 11:40 AM

Jacob,

I don't know about big break-ins... not much space left I guess... maybe just finding a little corner to fill with services that others don't offer.

I am doing the same, at this point DV is just a hobby and I'm still dreaming that 'one day' it'll bring some money. If it never will, oh well, at least I had a good time trying! The important thing is to love what you do.

I'm off of Pleasant Hill a couple miles east of I85 - we should find some time to get together for a coffee and an exchange of ideas or something.

What do you think?

Tim Goldman June 16th, 2006 03:08 PM

I'm in marietta for some reason!

Mark Gaffney March 19th, 2008 06:30 PM
