DV short idea
This is almost a cross post but I know how compartmentalized we get on these forums some times. I had a thought some time back that maybe we could all shoot the same very simple scene and see how we all tackle it differently.
The idea came from a short discussion of how different producers/Directors might tackle the same script and how different the films might have turned out under a different director. So anyway, I wrote a very quick and wide open for interpretation pseudo-script. You can find the whole thing here: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthrea...417#post367417 I gave everyone 2 weeks and I will compile the results and place a link to everyones versions. If you need a place to park videos, let me know. I may have some room to host downloadable files for this. Just an interesting experiment. Not a contest. Thanks, Sean |
Is it too late to jump on?
|
Jump in there by all means. I need folks to comit to doing it. I have waived the two week deadline idea so, whenever I get 6 or more folks that tell me their version is done, I'll gather their files, build a web page and even volunteer to host the files. We can then all comment on the differences we see.
I still think this is a great tool. Shows social/economic differences in the way we percieve common situations as well as our individual mental status in what we come up for with a dry scene like this. I envision someone coming up with a sinister version, a "sweet" version and so on. Check the other thread as I don't want to get everyone following 2 threads. http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthrea...417#post367417 I welcome the participation. Please encourage everyone else to join in. Sean McHenry |
What ever happened with this?
|
Is there a post where we can view the finished product?
|
Well, I had a plan and others thought it was a good idea but I think timing, holiday seasons approaching, having just finished DVC3 and waiting for DVC4, etc, nobody activly participated. I leave it open that if I get say 6 links to shorts using the simple one page script, I'll publish a web page listing all the comparisons and start a thread here so we can all discuss the differences.
I hope to resurect this when people have more time to devote to it. I would still love to see how folks in different regions respond. In fact, I would love to see real world big-time directors tackle a project like this. We'll try again in the near future. Sean |
I wanted to do it, but I'm so far behind in everything else....
|
No problem. In fact, I wanted to do it too but still haven't shot mine either so I am in fact as much to blame for it not taking off as anyone. On the otherhand, it wouldn't show much if I was the only one.
We'll get to it. Sean |
