Matching HDV time lapse
Hey now -
I'm looking for a cheap decent compact digital still cam that takes time lapse in 16:9 to match my HDV. Wondering what MP to use? I'm using a little consumer cam (HDV) that takes 4.0MP stills. It puts these to a memory stick. While researching, I read it's probably best to use a still cam for time lapse. In my case, I'm thinking a compact digital on my tripod. What time lapse cam's and MP can you recommended to match my 16:9 HDV? Thx |
1.3MP = 720 hdv and 2MP = 1080 - roughly. Anything above 2MP should be great - most digicams offer that anyway. However, i don't know which still cameras offer time lapse.

Thanks
I wonder if we've converting apples to oranges, though. One is a CMOS (my cam) and the others are CCD (P+S)...with lots of 16:9 resolution differences...all will get converted down to HDV (1440 x 1080) I'll probably want some extras like image stabilization which are late model Canons I think... You can hack some Canon Powershots to take time intervals with the link below CHDK Wiki |
if you're using a pro NLE, then you can combine different footage on to the timeline - no need to convert everything to HDV.
