invisibly watermarking screeners?
We have two documentary projects in post, one that's close to completion and which I'm close to being able to submit to festivals. I'm a tad concerned about sending out DVD's before the thing is commercially available. Whilst I'm sure that 99.99999% of film festivals are as secure a place as any to send a screener to, does anyone know of any kind of digital watermarking that could be used to track a possible leak of something like this onto the Internet? (I know that the Academy uses a proprietary solution for this for sending out screeners).

yes you can embedd data into the video that even can survive crop and recompression.
So you can embed a serial number allowing the identification of each sample you send to somebody. http://www.compression.ru/video/steg.../index_en.html |
Thanks so much Giroud, I figured that someone must have done something like this; a very useful link.
