Glidecam body pod
Does anyone have one? How well do they work? Pros and cons? I`m considering one because I plan on having extensive 'free dolly' shots in an upcoming project. Are they comfotable? Invasive? And would they be attractive enough to use at a wedding?(seperate idea)

Hi Nathan,
Do a search on this forum for "body pod" and you'll find all the answers you're looking for. The general answer to this and all the other "is this rig good" questions is they're as good as you're willing to make them. No single stabilizer is magic in a box. They all require practice and dedication to learning the skill. If you desire, you'll eventually be able to make your rig do wonderful things. To get started, I do recommend searching and reading all the questions and answers already posted. Best of luck! |
The body pod does not have an articulating (sprung) arm. It can not be used when moving.
It's a handy spot to put the sled if you need a static shot .. you know, to turn your body into a tripod (bipod actually...) You will need to look into an articulated arm & matching vest for moving shots when you find the sled too heavy to hand-hold. - Mikko |
Well put Mikko.
