Thanks Charles,
my mistake - it looked like the Hollywood Lite a similar arm structure as the smooth shooter...

Charles King December 18th, 2005 10:56 AM

Well John. The hollywood lite is the same product as the GT. Hollywood lite company was bought by the Varizoom people. It does have the same arm assembly. The only difference is that the SS is much more shorter and narrow than the GT. When I tested it at IBC20005 it felt really smooth, at the least the one I tested. The arm felt that I could intereact with the it much better.

BTW, here is review of someone who just bought his Smooth Shooter: http://www.dvxuser.com/V3/showthread.php?t=41379

John:
Think carefully about the Basson.. they may have features, but there have been issues with quality in the past, read this thread (on yet another forum).. http://www.steadiforum.com/showthread.php?t=504

I think price is just a very small part of the stabilizer business. i.e. the quality of the welding is very important. It can hurt the user and completely damage the camera if welding is not strong and break. The highest quality is tig welding method which I use in my commercial stabilizer. Tig welding is mostly used in spaceship. FYI normal business use mig welding which is cheap.

Regards
Leigh

Wow, Thanks.
I was never really gonna go there, BUT, I was drooling.
Then when I saw the footage on their site I was less impressed.
