Taylor:
Video transmitters (or tx) are standard equipment for Steadicams. We try to avoid cabling of any kind. Most use an RF transmitter that works on the TV band, some use a dedicated microwave band. None are perfect, but if used with a good tuner and directional antenna (for long walk-and-talks we have someone carrying the antennae, keeping it pointed at the transmitter). Unusual balance--that's pretty esoteric. For now, assume a basic balance will get you most of what you need. Adjusting the fore-and-aft for a given shot (pointing predominantly down or up during the shot) will make things easier. Try searching the forum here, I've doled out a few exercises over the past year. Otherwise, hate to say it--you'll have to wait for the video! |
