Pix240 Clips No Audio In PPro 5.5
If anyone with a Pix and PPro (Mac) could try to reproduce a problem...
Recorded a number of clips from Sony F3 to Pix240 in both ProRes and ProRes HQ. FCP 7, FCP X and QT Player all play the audio nicely. PPro does not play the audio. Waveforms completely flat. |
Re: Pix240 Clips No Audio In PPro 5.5
A partial solution suggested to me by my colleague writer at DV, Oliver Peters.
PPro really doesn't like multi-channel QT files. Created a 4-track sequence in FCP 7 and exported as self-contained movie. That movie played audio in PPro. But other problem I encountered is stuttering and freezing playback. This could be due to a multitude of things, possibly even the Kona card (despite the new AJA software/firmware updates). EDIT - Since this last response, I've heard from SD (not bad... tech support replies on a Sunday night). PPro input was a bug fixed in firmware 1.02, which essentially is the shipping firmware. PPro 5.5.2 broke the fix and SD will include that fix in the next firmware rev which should be "soon." |
Re: Pix240 Clips No Audio In PPro 5.5
V1.03 PIX firmware was released today. This introduces some great new features (inc. record start/stop SDI flags from Sony, Canon, Alexa, Panasonic; reads and triggers from Sony HDMI timecode etc etc) and fixes quite a few bugs including the audio problem in Premier Pro 5.5.2.
