any others worth considering?

I owned the Century .6x and it had a lot of barrel distortion...but you got a wider field of view.
I worry that the .8 isn't wide enough. I'll probably go with the .6 again...or maybe the Cavision .7x...

Zunow is probably the best, but only .75x and pricey

Does seem strange that a $1162 lens doesn't give some simple before and after shots to back up its claim of, 'leading-edge optics reduce barrel distortion'. What? Reduce the Sony lens' barrel distortion? I've got to see this. Raynox are very up-front on their converter lens web site, giving lots of before and after shots, and including straight lines, too.

I decided on the Cavision .7x Wide Angle Adapter $299 - but B&H says it takes 6 - 10 weeks for delivery!?
Maybe they custom make one for you when you order it!!! :O

One more for your list is the Cavision 0.5x (I happen to have one for sale -- PM me for details if interested).

I think the .5 is too wide for my needs. i had a .6 which was really too wide too,
so I've ordered the Cavision .7

i received the Cavision .7x adapter - seems nice so far - not too much distortion.

But it has a 117 mm front thread, that I thought I could put a UV filter on for protection. But I haven't been able to find any 117 mm UV filters - just various colored filters. Any leads?

Tell yourself it's not a filter thread but a hood thread, save yourself a piece of glass and get an aspect ratio hood.

is that what the thread is for - attaching a lens hood/sun shield? seems odd that they'd include it on the lens if there's nothing to attach to it!

Your 0.7x adapter is taking your minimum focal length down to a minuscule 4 mm. Put your fingertips that far apart and marvel. And while you're marveling, realise that your dof will be practically infinite. So the Cavision adds another three elements onto your Sony lens and yet you still want to add another. Unless it's medically clean (it won't be) your UV adds two more air2glass surfaces and the huge dof will be trying to bring all those dust spots into focus. A hood is a much better investment than a UV - unless, that is, you've got the EX behind the rear wheel of your trials bike.

So I was shooting in the wilds of Michigan's Upper Peninsula this weekend (in an unheated barn), and the wide angle adapter slipped out of my hands and landed in the dirt!

I didn't try to clean it at the time, just packed it away in it's case - today I'll tenderly try to brush and blow all the crud off of it!!
