Another SXS card 'not working' question
I just got the newest version of the Macbook Pro 17" with the express card slot, downloaded the newest SXS driver from the Sony/Provideo site, restarted my computer, inserted the SXS card correctly, and it will not read or even show up on the desktop, nothing. I do get the "mass storage" icon in the top toolbar, but the only option available is to "Power off card". That's it. Any ideas? I would really appreciate some pointers here...

Does it show up in Disk Utility? Has it been formatted?
|
It does not show up in Disk Utility, but I have been using it from the camera for five months without any trouble, so I'm not sure what to do next.
|
Well, you can always offload using USB, between the camera and MBP.
Then reformat the card. I am assuming other SxS cards work in your new MBP. If not then there is something wrong with your MBP driver installation. |
I don't have any other SXS cards, just the two that I use in the camera. I've been downloading via USB from the camera, but I really need to be able to pull a card, like in the middle of a concert, and download footage, clear it, and reinstall before the other runs out of room. I'm heading for the Apple store tomorrow, I'll let you know what I find out...

I run 10.6.3 with no problem on my MBP.
The trans works very well. Check that you have all the components installed. Link below. Sony | Micro Site - XDCAM EX See my screen shot, and compare it to your Transfer app report. |
Went to the Apple store, performed a re-install of the Sony SXS driver in front of them...and, Voila! it works...same thing happens with my car, what can I say...
