Solar Eclipse - 5DmkII and Sony EX-3 - MTF Nikon adapter

Just wanted to share my work for the day, I've been covering the solar eclipse as its path went over China. Video: China watches the solar eclipse | Science | guardian.co.uk

Sadly because of storm clouds I didn't get a view of the sun during the total eclipse but did witness the darkness and a partial eclipse afterwards. I'll try uploading a HD version on Vimeo later.

For the sun close up sequences I used an EX-3 with a MTF services Nikon lens adapter, a Nikon 80-200 and lots if NDs in a Genus Mattebox.

My gear got a bit wet and so its currently drying out in my hotel room Video: China watches the solar eclipse | Science | guardian.co.uk

Nice work, Dan. Too bad about the weather, but that's the way it goes I guess.
I'm wondering which camera you used to shoot the crowd scenes and interviews? I noticed quite a lot of rolling shutter effect with the flashes going off and wondered which camera you were using then? I know the EX3 exhibits this effect with flashes (I've experienced it myself) but have not heard about how bad it is with the 5DmkII.... but then I haven't really looked into it, either.

The flashing sections were on the 5dmkII (as it has better low light/no light performance than the Sony), but the EX-3 would probably have been about the same in terms of the rolling shutter with the strobing.
