Do the new Sony EX-1's come with v1.11 out of the box?
Quick question, I'm looking at purchasing a second EX-1. I know that the last one I purchased 10 months ago came with v1.05. What are the latest firmware versions you are seeing. Please respond if you have purcased one in the last 3 months or can confirm what version the new cameras are coming with.
Would it be better to wait or will they never come with v1.11. Having to send it back in is such a pain. Any feedback is appreciated. D |
Any new EX1 you buy now should be V1.11 by now.

Also, is it fact that they are coming with 1.11 out of the box or speculation? Thanks |

I don't know the details of the 1.12... probably minimal compared to 1.11 as it hasn't get that much publicity, but it's out there since people are reporting recently that their units have been upgraded to this firmware. Based on the fact that the firmware is out, it's also safe to say that all the EX1s manufactured within few weeks already ship with 1.12. But it's also safe to assume that many retailers have still stock with 1.11. Since the 1.11 has been out a longer while already it's probably almost impossible to buy a new unit with original firmware... unless someone forgot the box behind the storage room or the unit has been in display case for almost the last half of a year.

I'm wondering, has it been confirmed that a certain version of the firmware will eliminate the use of SDHD cards with an adapter? I had heard that before, and assumed this post was somewhat related. I ask because I will be purchasing an EX3 before March 31...

i just had my EX3 firmware updated from v1.02 - v1.03 - v1.04 yesterday why wouldn't they update it up to v1.11?
i didn't realize that the updates were so high. my cams are only 3 months old,. currently confused to al hell????? |
Each camera has its own range of firmware updates to cover various issues. For the EX3 it only goes to 1.4 at present.

NO, 1.12 does NOT eliminate using the SDHC adapters. mine came back from service and thats the first thing I did was pop one in, it worked fine.
