Just to confirm, can we use the Fujinon ACM-21 adapter to mount a Canon HJ22ex7.6B 2/3" lens on a Sony EX3 camera?

Why not just get a Canon 5DmkII and rent a Canon Super tele lens, nothing else will even come close for short $$.

Because you'll have massive ergonomic and motion issues, plus you'll loose tons of magnification.
Oh, and just found this pic of the very combination that was asked about - EX3 plus Canon 150-600 for those interested!

We used to use those Canons to shoot windsurfing back in the 90's. Ours had Sony B4 mounts and motorised zoom.

Steve Phillipps June 25th, 2009 01:18 PM

This one had a motorised zoom but I removed it, it's only really good as a variable prime anyway and doing it manually saves lots of weight and bulk! Both the 150-600s I;ve had have had Universal mount and I've used them on Super 16, Digibeta and now HD, as well as 35mm and digital stills! Versatile bit of kit.

That lens brings back memories Steve.
We converted loads of these when I was at Optex.
Who did your conversion?

Steve Phillipps June 26th, 2009 05:09 AM

It was done before I bought it, but it was Optex for Panavision.

I think this is what you are looking for....

... if the lens is PL mount.

PL to Sony PMW-EX3 adaptor

Quite right Will.
Thought I would let someone else mention it.

Cheers

Unfortunately the Russians will become nervous with that
lens/adapter since the focal length becomes 2325mm. :)

You can be a spy from your front porch in Alaska!

More like 3240mm
Don't forget, regardless of the mount fitted, it is still a 150-600mm that covers 35mm stills format.
In this case, angle of view will be equivalent to 5.4X focal length.

Has anyone tried hooking one up to a large telescope for some astro videography? I use to point my TRV510 into the lens of my ETX tele and get some nice video of saturn and jupiter.
