have only mp4 EX1 files - but not the rest...
Hi
a friend copied my card the "wrong way": now I only have all the mp4 EX1 original files but without the xml etc. files... (please don't ask why--- >sss<) XDCAM transfer doesn't get the files... any suggestions? Is the footage gone?!? Thanks a lot!! Rainer |
Hi
I did the same thing first time I tried the EX1. I tried Making a folder called BPAV, then a folder CLPR and putting the footage into that folder. Then opening in the Sony Clip Browser program.... it seemed to resore the file hieracy. |
Thank you, I will try it this evening.

Don't remember who or the post title, but there is a bloke here that figured out a solution to this... With the camera.
I do remember that Craig Seeman was one of the many responders. As he probably will to this post as well. He's on top of things. |
Although Sony Clip Browser 1.x will seem to recreate the BPAV folder (it says it should do this rather obliquely in the PDF) but the XDCAM Transfer Tool (Mac) won't recognize it. I reported it to Sony as a bug. Clip Browser 2 (any day now supposedly) will fix this.
If you're on a Mac http://ffmpegx.com/index.html will convert the EX MP4 to something such as H264 There is a way to take a pre-existing BPAV and copy the MP4 to it on an SxS card and put it back into the EX camera and it'll fix the folder. |
Good news. ClipBrowser 2.0 is out and in my "orphan MP4" test it created an new viable BPAV folder that XDCAM Transfer (Mac) 2.7 had no problem understanding.
Rainer, download ClipBrowser 2.0 and your troubles are over! |
