Arri Matte Box
Did anyone at NAB manage to get more information about the Arri Matte Box and Follow Focus for the EX. There's a photo on adam wilts blog but no other details. Like ETA, Price, the usual suspects...

why doesn't that surprise me!
Is the Red Rock one shipping then? Last time i looked it was preview or preorder? cheers paul |
they are saying 40 days

The Arri guy told me "under 4k" but no set price yet.
It is the absolute best thing out there in terms of design/build quality as far as I can tell. |
Phil,
Could you please give us some hints about optimum configuration of the Redrock matte box, to be used in conjunction with the EX1+LEX, on the Letus 30+15 cm rails? Will it just fit, or is another rail system (possibly also from Redrock) required? Also (please bear with me; I've never used a matte box before) will it fit any lens on the Letus Extreme, AND the EX1 on its own, i.e. without LEX? |
I find the idea of $4k for a matte box faintly ridicolous. At the end of the day i just need something to hold 4x4 filters in front of the lens. The red rock one looks nice, 40 days is an awful long time but red rock look as though they're becoming a cheaper zacuto brand. The handles look nice too. I hope they can ramp up production!
I've even been tempted by a indian ebay job, i don't see how far you can go wrong with something so simple. cheers paul |
Phil,
I just looked at the redrock mattebox very briefly as I had to catch a plane and spent about 40 minutes just looking for the booth. It looked great to me though. Do you know if the EX-1 fix they are designing is an add on or replaceable part so that you can use it with other cameras in the standard configuration. it will move the filters further away from the lens as I understand so it would be nice to not always have to be in that set-up. I am hoping to have this one for years, and every inch counts when trying to use say a wide-angle on a standard 2/3" camera. |
Edit - post removed - somehow it appeared in the wrong thread ...

Does anyone know if on the Red Rock matte box it is possible to adjust the vertical position of the filter? If you have a grad ND filter and you want to adjust it according the skyline for example.
