No MetaData in Clips?
When reviewing clips to compare profiles I was surprised to see there is no meta data with the clips to identify the camera settings used. Is this not expected, or is it there buried deep?
|
Doesn't the meta data get written in the xml files besides the mp4 clips?
|
I seem to remember from the "Mastering the Sony PMW-EX1" DVD that they mentioned how little metadata was captured in the EX1, to the extent that the Clip Browser was pretty much described as a program for manually entering metadata before the file was exported in a format the your NLE would understand.

There is meta data of fps, rec format, duration and such in the xml files.

True, but this is of little use if you want to know how a look was created. I'm talking about the PP settings not basic stuff like frame rate.

Note that PP data is not recorded by HDV camcorders. When testing I usually verbally record setting data. |
