Best DL DVD+R for archiving
Until BluRay is fast (8X) and cost effective or XDCAM disk do HQ I am backing up on 500GB hard drives and DVD's.
I have a question regarding DL DVD+R's. What DL DVD+R are people using? Where is the best place to buy? And how is it working splitting a 16 GB card to two DL DVD's? |
as far as I know Tayo Yuden are among the best brand of DVDs. They are not the cheapest ones (of course...) but I buy it in large quantities (200pcs) and so the price is okay. I know good places in Germany but not outside the country, sorry.

XDCAM EX Clip Browser has a function called "split" (it's under menu/edit/slit) which lets you divide a 16 GB SXS into two or more folders and archive them in two separate DL DVDs |

Brendan I went for Verbatim DVD+R DV (95484). It is nice to see BR is that cost effective when it comes to back up. But for this trip I will be on the road and burning off my Macbook Pro so no BR option.
I look forward to faster and more compatible BR burners. Not sure when the next round of burners are coming but Clients are starting to ask. |
