My USA authorized Sony dealer says the second card is sent when buyer registers the camera with Sony. I believe that to be the case with all authorized Sony dealers in the USA.
This forum has approved dealers. There may be other authorized Sony dealers with different prices. Most authorized Sony dealers are very closely priced. It's good to make your purchase decision based on both price and after sales service. That's what I did. |

Same is the case in Canada. A second card is offered free as a mail-in rebate.

Any guesses as to how quickly Sony will ship these out as part of the promotion? I see that many of the sponsored dealers don't seem to be offering the memory cards for order yet.

One can hope that Sony realizes how important that 2nd card is to making the camera viable economically for professional use. I dread having to wait 6 weeks for that 2nd card. I'd want them to ship overnight and may be willing to pay for that.
Obviously the cards will be out since one will be included with the camera. The question is how short the supply is. There's really not much info coming from Sony or the dealers on this. |

Lets hope so. I'm still waiting for the 5 tapes Sony promised me when I bought the V1U last December. /sigh/

Looks like a survey is coming soon on the sony site. Maybe we are supposed to fill the thing out to get our card.
