I'm sorry. I would have posted this early, if I had saw it. When I look at the BH site now, they do not list the Impact battery as an accessory to the Sony products.

I really complained last month when this battery worked with none of the Sony products I own.

Yes, I did. I sent it back for an exchange. The strange thing is that one of the BH kits sells a vx2100 with an Impact battery, so maybe it sometimes works. Perhaps, your battery will work.

Yes, they did. I didn't even have the box, but they let me return it. Afterall, it is their fault for misadvertising. I have a feeling I am not the only one that has complained about these batteries. It didn't even work with my sony light!

The batteries I bought on Ebay all work including the knockoff batteries with no labels or writing on them. Go figure.

Well, i've purchased from the LCD4Video seller, an NP-F970 and a Sony external battery charger for 75$, should be here next week hopefully.

LCD4video is awesome - I got my battery super fast last week (battery + charger for $75)....You won't regret buying from him (genuine Sony for half the price of BH).

I just used my 970 to tape a 2 hour meeting and the minute meter was still indicating 600 minutes remaining on the battery at the end of the meeting (this was with the LCD screen open). My boss actually comented on how impressed he was with the battery life....Also if you go to an FX1 later on you can use the battery in it...

VX2100 is a great camera! I still like my 2100 better than my A1U. You won't be disappointed.

i'm very excited, its not every day that a average 16 year old gets to order a 2400$ camera ha ha.

Just so you guys know, i'm actually paying for this, i'm not some little spoiled brat haha.

Scheduled delivary is on tuesday, and next weekend i'm taking a trip down to Ft lauderdale with friends so i can test the bad boy out!

Using the In-camera Battery Charger
 

I've found that you may be able to squeeze a bit more power into the battery when it's in the camera, than by charging it externally, but it is slow. Look up the Sima website to find a great charger, that accepts most lithium and other battery types, using its furnished set of adaptor trays.

I've had an earlier version of it for 6 years and it works fast and dependably. When the charge is complete, it lets out 3 shrill beeps that would raise the dead.

Regarding accessories that are sold and recommended by the dealer who sold you your camera: Don't just take what some salesperson throws at you, because it may not be suitable. About 7 months after I bought my first big pro camcorder combination and an editing VCR, I foolishly used, without question, the "wet" cleaning cassette the same salesman sold me. He said it was "just the thing" I needed. It was just the thing, alright. Only 15 seconds in the VTR and also in the editing VCR, and their head-drum assemblies were toast. It took 2.5 months for Sony to fix them and without the manager of the dealership running interference for me and getting the extended-warranty company to cover the $2,000. plus bill, I would have been SOL. I gave the cleaning-cassette company a piece of my mind and got them to re-badge their stock, warning that the "works with all Beta recorders" label, did not apply to those that used metal BetaCam SP cassettes. Why a dealer that had a professional division would carry such an item, I do not understand. I believe that wet cleaning cassettes can be damaging to all types of VCRs.
