Need Sony parts - TRV950
I have a beaten and battered camera that took a nasty fall, but all that appears to have been damaged was the wee plug that retains the rubber roller in the feed mechanism. This popped off, so now the roller is loose and falls out of place if the camera is tilted with no tape inside. With a tape in, it'll function just fine.
The ribbon cable attaching the zoom rocker was also torn while some durned hamfisted goon (who shall remain nameless) was diagnosing the problem in his characteristically amateurish way. So... that'd be: one rubber roller retainer for the feed mechanism one zoom rocker ribbon cable Seems I need to be "Sony Authorized" to order even these simple parts? Anybody have some otherwise dead parts cams laying about they'd consider selling? Help me keep this faithful brick of a crash cam alive! |
You can buy them yourself - I've done so. Don't have the Sony website details to hand, though, sorry.
Alternatively, see if you can get a dirt cheap one off eBay. I needed a new LCD display unit for a PDX-10 and got a TRV50 for $200 in perfect condition that uses exactly the same components. In fact, many of the components are identical including the entire tape mechanism. Odds are it is the same one for the 950. |
Here are some places to start your search:

I forgot about that oft-forgotten tool... the telephone.
Discovered the number to call for professional parts sales is 1-800-538-7550 Had the parts on order in about 20 min. not that a tvr950 is super pro, but they found me the parts anyway |
