Tips for shooting green screen?
What's the ideal way to get the best key from your FS700? Which picture profile would you advise?

Re: Tips for shooting green screen?
I second that question. I have a green screen shoot coming up. My first with the FS 700. And I'd be interested in any thoughts as well.

Hey Peter, this has been discussed on an FS700 facebook page.

Re: Tips for shooting green screen?
Great, Thanks.
Okay, I'm back. I joined and read. Lots of interesting things on the Facebook site. I saw one green screen discussion about white on the shoulders of a presenter, but nothing about best settings for shooting green screen in the camera. |
Re: Tips for shooting green screen?
The 700 will work fine with chroma keying. I use the PP that gives me the best overall picture, with nice skin tones.
Pulling good keys easily. Is a matter of lighting well. Use a large space if possible so your talent is far in front of the screen, to minimize spill. If you dont have a big space use -green or -blue gels on side lights on the talent, this helps a lot. Also using black flats on the side, floor and above the screen will minimize the spill as well If you can record 422 color space, using a NanoFlash (or other 422 recorder) or directly into your NLE. This helps a lot as well, more color info, so it is much easier to key. Run some tests before the actual shoot. It really is all about lighting. |

Thanks Olof. This is my first green screen with the FS700. Glad to hear it!
