Lens Hood for NX5
 

I'm having trouble locating a replacement lens hood for my NX5. The best I could get from Sony is part #X23208501. Going onto Sony's part site this part comes up as a hood for the HDR-FX1000. Could this be right?

Probably. It's likely that all of their cams with 72mm diameter lenses use the same hood.

The FX1 and Z1 have 72mm filter threads, but the bayonets are completely different so hoods aren't interchangeable.

Ah, good to know. Guess I shouldn't have assumed.

That being said, the Z5/NX5/FX1000/AX2000 are all virtually the same cam, so I'd still bet it'll work.

Was wondering whether there was any confirmation as to the part number for the lens hood on the NX-5?

That is also the part number for lens hood replacement for the HDR-AX2000, the prosumer version of the HXR-NX5. (X23208501).

I never ordered it believing it was not the correct part. Instead, I opened the hood up and discarded the small broken parts inside, put it back together and it has worked fine ever since. Strange but true.

10-4 guys, the part that came in, #X23208501, is in fact the lens hood; Thanks again.
